[Spoilers] Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal

I'm gonna watch this anime. But only because (1) I've seen at least 25 episodes of each Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and (2) I'd be the only staff member to potentially add character entries for Anime-Planet's database.

However, why is it that the protagonist's choice of favorite monster type is always Warriors? *sigh*

Somehow it slipped my mind that Yugi used Spellcasters. Dark Magician, Go!
Spellcasters need to be brought back.

And I wish new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series would make more references to past characters; I think in 5Ds, it's just been Kaiba. At least in GX, a lot of the previous characters were mentioned, sometimes even SHOWN. Hopefully Zexal will do so, however, I don't know how far the timeline starts off from 5Ds.

I dont recall any reference to the original YuGiOh characters in 5Ds

Some of these references happen early in the anime, but the most recent for me (because I'm watching the dub) is episode 94, Keeping a Promise Part 1. Someone made a joke about Seto Kaiba--it was so random it made me laugh. XD I can only remember references to Seto Kaiba's influence on dueling technology, which makes me think he's the sole character referenced.
