Hmmm, maybe Jin from Samurai Champloo? I love the flawed outsider who still rigorously stands for something, even if he's the only one with a clue what that something might be. (Try being a Wiccan cop in the Bible Belt, especially one who takes vacation days just to attend the ballet. . .throw in a little otaku and, poof!, instant outsider status!)

Others are Ai from Hell Girl--don't you just wanna march right into Hell and demand her freedom?;
Datsun (the long-suffering cop) from Big O!--professionalism and duty before all else (except personal loyalty!);
Jose from Gunslinger Girl--morally conflicted about the job, never about his young charge

Sorry, don't know how to post pics. Probably why I started with Jin. (Also, can I throw in Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb? Off-topic maybe, but if you must have a nemesis, isn't it nice to see it kept so civil?) ;p
